ahhh blogger. it's good to be back after a 4 year hiatus... This is the start of the post-graduation tour, which is really just an opportune time to trek across Hong Kong, India, and Thailand. Thus far, I'm successfully narrowed down my clothing options to the following:
*3 pairs of pants
*7 shirts (yes, I realize this is over-packing, but I need some options for the next six-plus weeks)
*8 pairs of unmentionables and socks (you can never have too much of these)
*2 pairs of shoes (walking and the rainbows)
*TSA regulation size toiletries
*Mosquito net
*100% DEET
*20 pre-packaged toilet seat covers (You never know how dirty those Western-style toilets can be, AND, I'm obviously not the only person in the world that would use them, since I picked them up at REI)
*Digital camera with 4gb memory card... I swear I'll try to remember to take photos...
*Ipod and charger (seriously, technology is a blessing and a curse...5 years ago, it was the discman and all its glory)
I'm looking at my 22" suitcase* (I might be able to convince them to let me on the plane with this, but I think it's ever so slightly longer than allowed), and contemplating the same thoughts I had prior to leaving for Spain - EEK! Let's not kid ourselves here, we all know that I'm going to buy stuff in every country I'm in... How else can I explain how I managed to fill up two closets in NYC? Hence, also bringing shirts, that I could care less if I lose... or replace. hehehe *There was a huge debate between rolling suitcase vs. backpacking pack... Ultimately, the suitcase won. Given that A and I will mostly be in civilization, I figure, why not roll myself there? This on the thoughts that with the exception of train travel and some dirt roads here and there, the suitcase ought to survive...and if it doesn't, well, se la vie.
